A blog of my thoughts while in Hong Kong. I was born near Ottawa, I grew up near and in Montreal, and I am currently transplanted to Hong Kong where my parents met and married.

The bamboo scaffolding workers balance on the beams...nuts. My friend tells me that they often don't wear the security harness that they should (which isn't unlike the construction workers in Canada).
At least these days they put a netting on the outside of the bamboo scaffoldings. When I was growing up there was no netting, sometimes the workers just dropped from the sky. The construction company used to put up signs like "Beware of falling workers." in order to warn the pedestrians, and avoid lawsuits.
